Ashok Leyland has rolled out the ‘Dost+’, a muscled up version of its small commercial vehicle Dost. The Dost+, priced at Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai), has been launched in the southern States and parts of Maharashtra and will be rolled out in stages pan-India.
The newer version targets the upper end of the SCV segment in the 2-3.5 tonne gross vehicle segment. The Dost+ weighs less as compared with its payload capacity which is a unique feature.
Moreover, it will come out with left-hand drive version targeting West Asia and Russia early next year. Its exports now are targeted primarily at SAARC countries.
Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
