Arvind reports strong Q1 numbers

Arvind has reported results for its first quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter has surged by 248.55% at Rs 66.33 crore as compared to Rs 19.03 crore for the same quarter last year. Its total income increased by 42.25% to Rs 821.76 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 577.70 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Arvind, which is known to for men's brands and apparel, is also getting into women's premium fashion wear with Elle. The apparel maker will soon sign a licensing agreement with French women's brand Elle for clothing and fashion accessories.
