Axis Bank loses steam on declaring ex-dividend

Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank plunged over 2% after the banks declared ex-dividends on Thursday. Axis Bank had declared a dividend of Rs 16/ share while Bank of Baroda Rs 17/ share and Punjab National Bank too declared Rs 22 / share dividend for the fiscal year ended in March 2012.

Axis Bank is currently trading at Rs. 1009.25, down by 37.35 points or 3.57% from its previous closing of Rs 1046.60 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 1034.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1037.80 and Rs 1006.60 respectively. So far 189870 shares were traded on the counter.

Bank of Baroda is currently trading at Rs 697.00, down by 22.15 points or 3.08% from its previous closing of Rs 719.15 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 705.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 712.70 and Rs 694.40 respectively. So far 76043 shares were traded on the counter.

Punjab National Bank is currently trading at Rs 771.85, down by 41.80 points or 5.14% from its previous closing of Rs 813.65 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 797.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 799.45 and Rs 770.40 respectively. So far 71281 shares were traded on the counter.
