Arvind surges on plan to set-up Rs 300-crore apparel park in Gujarat

Arvind is currently trading at Rs. 393.50, up by 4.10 points or 1.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 389.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 390.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 396.00 and Rs. 389.70 respectively. So far 17432 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 426.50 on 11-May-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 321.60 on 27-Dec-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 397.85 and Rs. 382.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 10206.25 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.94%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 40.65% and 16.41% respectively.

Arvind has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government to set up a mega apparel park with an investment of Rs 300-crore in Dahegam in Ahmedabad district in state of Gujarat. The MoU has been signed days after the state government announced its garments and apparel policy, 2017.

The mega apparel facility will be a first-of-its-kind which will employ more than 10,000 people. The park is expected to commence commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2018-19 financial year and will produce over 24 million garments once it is fully operational.

Arvind is India’s largest integrated textile player and is one of the oldest and most respected groups in the Textile Business in India. The company is also one of the largest producers of denim fabrics and is supplier to a large number of fashion brands in the world.
