Phillips Carbon trades in fine fettle on the BSE

Phillips Carbon Black is currently trading at Rs. 917.70, up by 10.30 points or 1.14% from its previous closing of Rs. 907.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 943.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 943.75 and Rs. 904.00 respectively. So far 34027 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 960.55 on 24-Oct-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 201.00 on 21-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 960.55 and Rs. 884.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3155.33 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.56%, while institutions and non-institutions held 16.19% and 30.25% respectively.

Phillips Carbon Black has reportedly earmarked Rs 800 crore to increase its production capacity. Currently, the company’s installed capacity is 4.72 lakh tonne and the capacity utilisation stands at 99 per cent.

Of total, the company will be investing Rs 300 crore over the next 12 months to up its production capacity by 80,000 tonne in Mundra and Palej plants in Gujarat. Moreover, the company will be coming up with a greenfield plant with an expected 1,20,000 tonne capacity in south India where an investment of Rs 500-600 crore will be made.

Phillips Carbon Black designs, manufacturers and markets carbon black. The company has capability & flexibility to produce any ASTM grade in addition to the grades mentioned above.
