Ashok Leyland in top gear on reporting 51% growth in November sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 121.80, up by 3.85 points or 3.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 117.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 120.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 123.20 and Rs. 119.85 respectively. So far 385367 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 133.00 on 26-Oct-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 74.40 on 02-Dec-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 124.00 and Rs. 114.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 35900.93 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.29%, while institutions and non-institutions held 33.94% and 14.77% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has reported a jump of 51% in November sales to 14,460 units, as against 9,574 units sold in the same month of last year. The company reported a rise of 54% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 10,641 units in November 2017, as compared to 6,928 units in November 2016.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment of the company registered sales of 3,819 units in November, a jump of 44%, as compared to 2,646 units sold in November 2016.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
