Ashok Leyland jumps on reporting 51% growth in May sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 150.15, up by 1.85 points or 1.25% from its previous closing of Rs. 148.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 149.85 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 152.00 and Rs. 148.45 respectively. So far 614808 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 167.50 on 08-May-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 89.95 on 28-Jun-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 152.00 and Rs. 145.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 43982.88 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.27%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.41% and 14.32% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has reported a jump of 51% in May 2018 sales to 13,659 units, as against 9,075 units sold in the same month of last year. The company reported a rise of 70% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 10,421 units in May 2018, as compared to 6,143 units sold in May 2017.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment of the company registered sales of 3,238 units in May 2018, a jump of 10% as compared to 2,932 units sold in May 2017.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
