Uttam Sugar Mills surges as its Barkatpur distillery unit commences operations

Uttam Sugar Mills is currently trading at Rs. 32.05, up by 0.90 points or 2.89% from its previous closing of Rs. 31.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 32.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 32.70 and Rs. 32.00 respectively. So far 9172 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 39.75 on 18-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 19.20 on 18-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 32.85 and Rs. 26.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 82.59 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.07% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 2.25% and 19.68% respectively.

Uttam Sugar Mills distillery unit situated at Barkatpur in Bijnore district has started its operations. Earlier in April this year, the company’s sugar unit situated at Barkatpur in Bijnore district had started export of power to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) as per power purchase agreement executed with UPPCL.

Uttam Sugar Mills is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of double sulphated and pure white sulphurless sugar. The company manufactures sugar through world class Defeco Remelt Ion Exchange Process.
