UCO Bank jumps on reporting 24% rise in Q1 net profit

UCO Bank is currently trading at Rs. 71.30, up by 1.20 points or 1.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 70.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 72.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 72.95 and Rs. 70.85 respectively. So far 26,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 95.00 on 17-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 44.80 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 72.95 and Rs. 67.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4,739.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.19% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.45% and 16.36% respectively.

On standalone basis, the bank has reported a rise of 23.90% in its net profit at Rs 362.46 crore for the quarter, as compared to Rs 292.53 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.  Total income of the bank has increased by 19.87% to Rs 4407.39 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 3676.88 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved to 3.88% in the April-June quarter as against 3.50% in the same quarter previous year while, net NPAs increased to 2.23%.
