Nava Bharat Ventures rises on reporting 26% increase in Q1 net profit

Nava Bharat Ventures is currently trading at Rs. 194.00, up by 0.50 points or 0.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 193.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 195.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 196.00 and Rs. 192.00 respectively. So far 1,104 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 226.70 on 22-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 158.00 on 30-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 196.00 and Rs. 182.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,732 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 41.32% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.37% and 30.31% respectively.

The company has reported a rise of 26.27% in its net profit at Rs 65.05 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 51.51 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income from operation of the company has increased by 16.78% at Rs 274.11 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 234.72 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

The company is engaged in power generation, sugar and ferro alloys and enlisted the services of a Chinese company, Sepco, to implement the power plant project, after securing various mandatory clearances from the Zambian Government.
