Adani Enterprises rises as its arm plan to buy 20% stake in Green Gas

Adani Enterprises is currently trading at Rs 576.90, up by 4.75 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs 572.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 575.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 588.00 and Rs 575.00 respectively. So far 26,214 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 785.25 on 04-Nov-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs 547.00 on 01-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 631.05 and Rs 570.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 66107.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.32% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.91% and 4.77% respectively. 

Gujarat-based Adani Gas, an arm of Adani Enterprises, is planning to acquire up 20% equity in Green Gas, a joint venture between Gail and the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

Green Gas supplies city gas and compressed natural gas in Agra and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Gail and IOC hold 22.5% each in the company, while Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation holds five percent. Aditya Vikram Birla Group and financial institutions IDFC and UTI together hold 50% stake in Green Gas.

On consolidated basis, the Adani Enterprises posted a rise of 0.90% in its net profit at Rs 569.81 crore as compared to Rs 564.73 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. Its total Income increased by 60.49% at Rs 9650.16 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 6013.04 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
