MMTC tumbles on reporting 42% fall in FY12 net profit

MMTC is currently trading at Rs. 723.50, down by 6.25 points or 0.86% from its previous closing of Rs. 729.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 735.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 738.00 and Rs. 720.00 respectively. So far 48480 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1009.00 on 10-Jan-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 438.55 on 20-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 798.00 and Rs. 720.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 72450.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 99.33% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.52% and 0.15% respectively. 

MMTC has reported results for the year ended March 31, 2012.

The company has registered a fall of 41.86% in its net profit at Rs 70.72 crore for the year under review as compared to Rs 121.64 crore in the previous year. The total income of the company has decreased by 3.61% at Rs 67051.89 crore for FY12 as compared Rs 69563.75 crore in FY11.

MMTC has recommended a dividend of 25% on the paid up equity capital of the company for the Financial year 2011-12.
