Skipper commissions transmission line testing station in West Bengal

Skipper has commissioned transmission line testing station on March 23, 2020 at Howrah in West Bengal. The facility has an annual testing capacity of 1800 MT of Transmission & Distribution Towers & Poles. The testing station also has an in house Research & Development Center which has been approved and recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.

The facility will help the company to conduct in-house Load Testing for Tower & Pole structures and will boost engineering capabilities. The unit has been set up at an estimated capex of Rs 68.77 crore.

Skipper is engaged in structural fabrication and manufacturing of mild steel and galvanized iron pipes, steel tubular poles, scaffolding and accessories and PVC pipes. Structural fabrication is the major contributor to the revenue of the company.
