Kotak Mahindra Bank surges despite reporting marginal fall in Q1 consolidated net profit

Kotak Mahindra Bank is currently trading at Rs. 1354.90, up by 32.45 points or 2.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 1322.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1328.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1357.15 and Rs. 1321.90 respectively. So far 82801 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1739.95 on 19-Feb-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1000.35 on 19-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1379.35 and Rs. 1311.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 266434.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 26.07%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 57.42% and 16.51% respectively.

Kotak Mahindra Bank has reported 8.51% fall in its net profit of Rs 1244.45 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020 as against Rs 1360.20 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank decreased 3.26% at Rs 7685.40 crore for Q1FY21 as compared Rs 7944.61 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the bank has reported 4.12% fall in its net profit at Rs 1852.59 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2020 as against Rs 1932.21 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank increased by 1.60% at Rs 12323.15 crore for Q1FY21 as compared Rs 12129.56 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
