Arvind shines on reporting 24% rise in Q2 net profit

Arvind is currently trading at Rs. 78.20, up by 0.15 points or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 78.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 78.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 78.35 and Rs. 77.75 respectively. So far 2082 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 111.15 on 01-Nov-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 59.05 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 80.30 and Rs. 75.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2014.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.53% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.58% and 23.65% respectively.

Arvind has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012. 

The company has posted a rise of 23.66% in its net profit at Rs 64.80 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 52.40 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 25.67% at Rs 959.05 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 763.16 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.

Ahmadabad based Arvind is the flagship company of the Lalbhai group. The company is one of India's leading composite manufacturers of textiles and is also among the largest denim manufacturers in the world. It also manufactures a range of cotton shirting, denim, knits and bottom weights (Khakis) fabrics. Arvind also markets branded apparels.
