The Income Tax Department had searched the office premises of Godfrey Phillips India from February 3, 2021 to February 7, 2021 in connection with search carried out on a promoter of the Company under Section 132 of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The Company has extended full cooperation to the authorities and will participate in any proceedings, if required.
Godfrey Phillips India, a flagship company of the Modi Enterprises, is one of India's largest cigarette manufacturers. It makes some of the best cigarette brands in the country including Four Square, Red & White, and Cavanders.
