Tata Consumer Products rises on setting up tea packaging unit at Gopalpur

Tata Consumer Products is currently trading at Rs. 770.35, up by 5.50 points or 0.72% from its previous closing of Rs. 764.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 766.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 774.00 and Rs. 766.10 respectively. So far 32204 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 786.70 on 12-Jul-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 402.45 on 23-Jul-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 774.00 and Rs. 747.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 71120.75 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.71%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.79% and 27.48% respectively.

Tata Consumer Products has set up tea packaging unit at Gopalpur in Ganjam district in the southern part of Odisha. The plant was commissioned in a span of 18 months with an investment of Rs 100 crore. It will provide employment opportunities to more than 900 persons and it will be developed as the largest tea packaging plant in the country.

It has a production capacity of 15 million kg of tea, which will be further enhanced to 50 million kg. The unit will cater to the needs of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, besides the states in central India.
