Phillips Carbon Black trades higher on the BSE

Phillips Carbon Black is currently trading at Rs. 246.75, up by 6.95 points or 2.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 239.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 240.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 249.00 and Rs. 240.05 respectively. So far 133998 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 278.65 on 02-Aug-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 111.10 on 09-Sep-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 249.00 and Rs. 216.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4244.68 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.56%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.08% and 36.36% respectively.

Phillips Carbon Black is planning to pump about Rs 1,300-1,400 crore over the next two years on capacity expansion. The expansion lined up is one Rs 800 crore greenfield plant near Chennai and brownfield expansion in Mundra for specialty carbon that would entail an investment of Rs 300-350 crore. The carbon major will pump Rs 100 crore in research and development facilities in Belgium and India.

Phillips Carbon Black is the largest manufacturer and supplier of carbon black in the country catering to the needs of elastomer, plastic, paints and ink manufacturing industries.
