State-run, BHEL is planning to manufacture defence equipment including making bigger guns for the Navy in association with the government. The company is working with Defence Ministry to identify a technology partner for manufacturing equipment. 

The company already had been manufacturing some products for defence. Apart from defence, the public sector enterprise is also focusing on transportation, renewables, among other areas.
