ITC gains momentum on the plans of investing Rs 3000 crore in Bengal

ITC is currently trading at Rs 305.00, up by 1.40 points or 0.46% from its previous closing of Rs 303.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 303.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs 306.20 and Rs 303.55 respectively. So far 35374 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Re 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 305.65 on 11-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 192.25 on 19-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 305.65 and Rs 294.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 239310.41 crore.

The Institutions holding in the company stood at 52.10% while Non-Institutions held 47.60 % of the stake.

Diversified business conglomerate, ITC is planning to invest nearly Rs 3,000 crore in Bengal over next four years. This investment will be in various sectors such as hotels and hospitality, consumer goods (including food), IT as well as expansion of its existing businesses in the State. The company had earlier applied to the West Bengal Government for land so that they can set up shop there.

ITC, a diversified conglomerate has business interests in cigarettes, hotels, paperboards and specialty papers, packaging, agri-business, packaged foods and confectionery, information technology, branded apparel, personal care, stationery, safety matches and other FMCG products.
