IVRCL, infrastructure major has halted the construction work of 32 mw Rahughat Hydroelectric Project in Nepal, demanding increase in the budget, as the estimated cost has gone up substantially since 2010. The issue is now being taken up by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
The company has received this order, worth Rs 300-crore, two years ago, while it has moved machinery and all to the site but the Nepalese government asked not to start the work until a Project Monitoring Cell (PMC) is established.
