Bank of Maharashtra advances on reporting 43% surge in Q3 net profit

Bank of Maharashtra is currently trading at Rs 59.95, up by 0.80 points or 1.35% from its previous closing of Rs 59.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 60.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 60.75 and Rs 59.40 respectively. So far 345983 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 66.20 on 08-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 42.90 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 61.65 and Rs 56.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 3531.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.95% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.82% and 9.23% respectively.

Bank of Maharashtra has reported 43.17% rise in its net profit at Rs 194.06 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 135.54 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 34.11% at Rs 2710.16 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2020.78 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2012 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 1.71%, as compared to 2.06% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA stood at 0.66% as compared to 0.54% in the same quarter of the previous year.
