Arvind spurts despite reporting 74% fall in Q3 net profit

Arvind is currently trading at Rs 94.45, up by 1.90 points or 2.05% from its previous closing of Rs 92.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 92.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs 95.50 and Rs 89.60 respectively. So far 1084957 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 107.50 on 16-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 59.05 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 97.95 and Rs 90.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 2327.55 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 43.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.68% and 20.60% respectively.

Arvind has reported 73.65% fall in its net profit of Rs 65.85 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 249.91 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the company has increased by 17.02% at Rs 970.54 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 829.36 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

Ahmedabad-based textile conglomerate will be establishing an integrated textile park that can house around 50 units near its existing plant at Santej, for which the company is scouting for a land of over 200 acres. The company has decided to invest around Rs 2,000 crore in an integrated textile park, after investing in its own denim, spinning, shirting, real estate and other business.
