WPIL shines on acquiring 100% stake in Mody Industries

WPIL is currently trading at Rs. 283.90, up by 15.55 points or 5.79% from its previous closing of Rs. 268.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 275.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 284.50 and Rs. 270.35 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 458.80 on 08-Oct-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 206.10 on 28-Mar-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 319.75 and Rs. 261.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 226 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.87% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.01% and 25.12% respectively.

WPIL has acquired 100% stake in Mody Industries (F.C) (MODY PUMPS), a pump manufacturing and marketing company operating in Thane, Maharashtra, thereby making it its wholly subsidiary. The acquisition will allow WPIL to further strengthen its product offering and penetrate into the sewage and dewatering market sector.

Mody Pumps is pioneer in the field of dewatering sewage submersibles and is preferred brand in the market place besides being the only approved dewatering brand with the Indian Navy.

WPIL offers system engineering and complete solutions to all kinds of water and waste water handling and transportation needs. The company is mainly engaged into manufacturing of vertical pumps, horizontal pumps, grey iron, castings and sluice valves.
