Pursuant to the changes introduced by the Finance Act, 2020, Dividend Distribution Tax has been abolished with effect from 1st April, 2020 and the Dividend income is taxable in the hands of the Shareholders. ln this regard, Godfrey Phillips India has informed that it enclosed an email communication which has been sent to all the Shareholders whose email addresses are registered with the Company/Depositories indicating the process and documentation required for claiming tax exemption/withholding tax on dividends proposed to be paid to the Shareholders, subject to the approval of shareholders at the ensuring Annual General Meeting to be held on 01st September, 2023 at applicable rates if any. This intimation has also been uploaded on the Company’s website at https://www.godfreyphillips.co/.
