Ashok Leyland declines on reporting 10% fall in December sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 181.05, down by 5.05 points or 2.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 186.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 187.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 189.50 and Rs. 180.75 respectively. So far 1393749 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 191.45 on 16-Aug-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 133.10 on 28-Mar-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 189.50 and Rs. 173.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 54465.16 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.53%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 36.81% and 11.67% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has reported 10% fall in its total sales, including exports, at 16324 units in December 2023 as compared to 18138 units in December 2022. Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales stood at 5524 units in December 2023. Medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) Trucks and bus sales stood at 8485 units and 2315 units, respectively.    

Domestic sales in December 2023 stood at 15323 units. Domestic LCV sales stood at 5221 units in December 2023. Domestic M&HCV Trucks and bus sales stood at 8379 units and 1723 units, respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
