Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India has secured an order worth around Rs 62 crore for setting up solar power project of 5-MW capacity for Karnataka Power Corporation at Belakavadi village in Karnataka. With this order, the company is presently executing SPV-based power projects of various capacities totaling 16 MW.

The company’s scope of the work in the order envisages design, manufacture, supply, installation and operation & maintenance of the solar power plant.

BHEL is one of the few leading players in the field of solar photovoltaic’s and SPV power plants in India. The SPV modules are manufactured at its ultra-modern manufacturing facility located at Bangalore. The operations in semi-conductors and solar photovoltaic’s are supported by an R&D unit, located in Gurgaon.
