Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship in India, has reported a drop of 16% in May sales which stood at 7,267 vehicles as against 8,655 vehicles in same month previous year. In May 2013, the sales of its small commercial vehicle 'DOST' witnessed over 1% marginal rise to 2,335 units from 2,305 units sold in the same month of last year. In May 2013, the sales of its Commercial vehicle – excl small commercial vehicle ‘DOST’ witnessed over 22% fall to 4,932 units from 6,350 units sold in the same month of last year.
For April 2013 to May 2013, the company has reported 15% drop in sales which stood at 14,754 units compared to 17,341 units posted at April 2012 to May 2012 period. The sales of its small commercial vehicle 'DOST' witnessed over 1% marginal rise to 4,571 units compared to 4,523 units sold in the same period.
Besides, the sales of its Commercial vehicle – excl small commercial vehicle ‘DOST’ witnessed over 21% fall and stood at 10,183 units compared to 12,818 units sold in the same two months period of last year.
