Emami Paper Mills revises project cost of wood-based pulp and paper mills

Emami Paper Mills has received an approval whereby the board has reviewed and revised its expansion project in respect of wood-based pulp & paper mills to be implemented at its existing plant site at Balasore in Orissa. The project cost has been reviewed and revised from Rs 1,225 crore to Rs 1,575 crore and the proposed capacity of the plant has also been revised from 1,75,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) to 1,85,000 tpa.

Further, the aforesaid project is proposed to be financed by raising the debts from banks and financial institutions to the tune of Rs 1,100 crore and the balance will be funded through issue of securities / internal accruals. The board at its meeting held on November 09, 2011 has approved for the above.

Emami Paper Mills (EPML), belongs to the Kolkata based Emami Group. The company is engaged in manufacturing of NP and Printing and Writing Paper (PWP) with aggregate installed capacity of 145,000 tonnes per annum. The company is one of the leading NP manufacturers in India and caters to majority of the newsprint buyers in Eastern India.
