HDFC Bank plummets on reporting higher bad loans for Q1FY14

HDFC Bank is currently trading at Rs 660.00, down by 18.65 points or 2.75% from its previous closing of Rs. 678.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 683.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 683.80 and Rs. 647.00 respectively. So far 247939 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 727.00 on 30-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 563.00 on 26-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 696.90 and Rs. 656.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 158611.88 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 22.74% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 43.10% and 17.13% respectively.

The bank’s net profit for the quarter rose by 30.09% at Rs 1843.86 crore as compared to Rs 1417.39 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012. Its total Income has increased by 17.95% to Rs 11588.56 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 9825.17 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Although, bank's gross NPA was unchanged at 1% in the quarter compared to the same period last year. Its net NPA stood at 0.3% vs 0.2% quarter on quarter (QoQ). Net NPA was at Rs 689 crore against Rs 469 crore Q-o-Q. Capital Adequacy Ratio of the bank (Basel III) was at 15.5%.
