Axis Bank surges on reporting 22% rise in Q1 net profit

Axis Bank is currently trading at Rs 1215.25, up by 22.50 points or 1.89% from its previous closing of Rs 1192.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1209.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1218.60 and Rs 1157.00 respectively. So far 417364 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1549.00 on 20-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 926.90 on 05-Sep-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 1314.80 and Rs 1177.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 55166.20 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.92% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 49.47% and 8.50% respectively.

Axis Bank has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2013.The bank has reported 22.14% rise in its net profit at Rs 1408.93 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 1153.52 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 15.87% at Rs 9059.12 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 7818.37 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

The bank’s gross NPA for the April- June quarter of the current fiscal stood at 1.10%, as compared to 1.06% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA stood at 0.35% as compared to 0.31% in the same quarter of the previous year.
