Isuzu Motors to target rural markets for light commercial vehicles

Isuzu Motors is planning to target rural markets for light commercial vehicles as they can help farmers access the markets directly. At present, it has two products in the market - a pick-up truck (DMAX) and a sports utility vehicle (MU-7). The Japanese automobile manufacturer is likely to increase its dealership network to tier-III cities and plans to have 10 outlets by December with many of them in smaller cities and towns.

The company has reported a drop of 11.83% in June 2013 sales, which stood at 1,341 vehicles as against 1,521 vehicles sold in June, 2012. The company had posted a rise of 2.30% in May 2013 sales, which stood at 1,153 vehicles as against 1,127 vehicles sold in May, 2012.
