PVR surges on plan to open 50 new movie screens in FY14

PVR is currently trading at Rs. 434.00, up by 5.20 points or 1.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 428.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 436.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 436.00 and Rs. 428.00 respectively. So far 524 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 470.00 on 16-Sep-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 185.25 on 24-Sep-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 470.00 and Rs. 412.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1717.29 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.04% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.16% and 35.81% respectively.

PVR is planning to open 50 new movie screens, especially in tier II cities like Pathankot, Mysore, Bhopal and Pune. In this regard, the company will invest around Rs 100 crore in this fiscal. Each of the screens would require capex plan of nearly Rs 2 crore

Recently, the company bought 138 screens from Cinemax India, a Mumbai-based company, for Rs 395 crore. Post-acquisition, PVR owns nearly 398 screens across 37 cities.

PVR is engaged in the business of film exhibition. The company operates other business such as providing content, film distribution and Entertainment Park through its subsidiaries.
