Bajaj Auto strengthens on plan of raising prices of its vehicles shortly

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 2005.50, up by 12.00 points or 0.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 1993.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2013.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2023.50 and Rs. 1995.50 respectively. So far 11433 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2228.95 on 03-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1657.50 on 04-Apr-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2063.40 and Rs. 1964.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 58220.64 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.21% and 24.75% respectively.

To offset the impact of high input costs and a weak rupee, Motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto is likely to raise prices of its vehicles shortly. The company registered a 9% fall in total sales (excluding exports) to 312,188 units in August 2013 against 344,906 units in August 12. The sales of the motorcycles declined by 8% and stood at 278,583 units in the month under review against 304,352 units in August 12.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
