Bank of Maharashtra opens a new Rural Branch in A. Kalappur, Chennai

Bank of Maharashtra has inaugurated its new Rural Branch in A. Kalappur, District Sivaganga, Chennai Zone on September 29, 2013. During the inauguration, Cheque for 4 education loans, 2 agriculture loans and a term loan for Gramavidiyal Trust (MFI) were distributed to the beneficiaries.

The total number of branches in Chennai Zone increased to 44 and total numbers of branches are 33 in Tamil Nadu state. Bank has its branch/ATM network spread all over the country with 1856 branches and 886 ATMs covering 28 states and 2 Union Territories with total business of Rs. 2.00 Lakh crore. Bank has proposed to increase its branch network to 2000 during current Financial Year 2013-14.

The bank has reported a rise of 89.61% in its net profit at Rs 266.33 crore for the quarter, as compared to Rs 140.46 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the bank has increased by 34.14% to Rs 2974.31 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 2217.30 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.
