Kotak Mahindra Bank trades higher on reporting 16% rise in Q2 net profit

Kotak Mahindra Bank is currently trading at Rs. 717.60, up by 8.80 points or 1.24% from its previous closing of Rs. 708.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 710.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 729.40 and Rs. 710.75 respectively. So far 131784 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 804.00 on 30-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 588.00 on 28-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 729.40 and Rs. 673.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 55198.14 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 43.69% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.43% and 22.70% respectively.

Kotak Mahindra Bank has reported 25.74% rise in its net profit at Rs 352.54 crore for the reported results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 280.38 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 13.56% at Rs 2469.46 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2174.50 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.

On the consolidated basis, the group has registered a growth of 16.08% in net profit after tax at Rs 582.93 crore as compared to Rs 502.17 crore in the same quarter previous year. However, total income of the group declined 8.42% to Rs 3695.98 crore for quarter under review as against Rs 4035.75 crore in corresponding quarter previous year.
