Ashok Leyland registers 15% fall in October sales

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, has reported a drop of 15% in October sales at 6,803 vehicles, as against 7,997 vehicles sold in same month year ago. In October 2013, the sales of its Large Commercial Vehicle (LCV) products 'DOST & STILE' witnessed a drop of 11% to 2,710 units from 3,033 units sold in the same month of last year. The sales of its overall Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) witnessed over 18% fall to 4,093 units from 4,964 units sold in the same month of last year.

For April 2013 to October 2013, the company has reported 21% drop in sales which stood at 51,644 units compared to 65,321 units posted at April 2012 to October 2012 period. The sales of its LCV products witnessed drop of over 12% to 16,731 units compared to 18,946 units sold in the same period.

Besides, the sales of its M&HCV products witnessed over 25% fall and stood at 34,913 units compared to 46,375 units sold in the same period of last year.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
