Ashok Leyland registers 27% fall in November sales

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, has reported a drop of 27% in November sales at 5,375 vehicles, as against 7,370 vehicles sold in same month year ago. In November 2013, the sales of its Large Commercial Vehicle (LCV) products 'DOST & STILE' witnessed a drop of 8% to 2,660 units from 2,883 units sold in the same month of last year. The sales of its overall Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) witnessed over 39% fall to 2,715 units from 4,487 units sold in the same month of last year.

For April 2013 to November 2013, the company has reported 22% drop in sales which stood at 57,019 units compared to 72,691 units posted at April 2012 to November 2012 period. The sales of its LCV products witnessed drop of over 11% to 19,391 units compared to 21,829 units sold in the same period.

Besides, the sales of its M&HCV products witnessed over 26% fall and stood at 37,628 units compared to 50,862 units sold in the same period of last year.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
