Bank of Maharashtra plans to open 34 retail and MSME loan processing centres: Report

Bank of Maharashtra a premier Nationalized Bank is reportedly planning to increase retail and MSME loan books in the coming year. The bank is also planning to open 34 retail and MSME loan processing centres across India to strengthen the expansion of advances to these two sectors.

At present, the bank’s retail and MSME sectors account for 11% and 16% of the total advances respectively. The Bank is planning to expand the business in these two sectors to 15% and 20% respectively by March 2014.

Bank of Maharashtra has reported a fall of 71.77% in its net profit at Rs 46.85 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 166.01 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 31.32% at Rs 3196.56 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2434.09 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.
