ITC firms up on hiking price of Bristol cigarette by 15%

ITC is currently trading at Rs. 326.90, up by 1.40 points or 0.43 % from its previous closing of Rs. 325.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 325.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 329.95 and Rs. 325.50 respectively. So far 115824 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Re 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 380.00 on 24-Jul-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 274.15 on 14-Jan-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 326.10 and Rs. 313.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 259093.94 crore.

The Institutions holding in the company stood at 53.59 % while Non-Institutions held 46.13% of company’s stake.

ITC has increased price of Bristol cigarette by 15% to Rs 45 per pack. Recently, the company increased price of Wills navy cut cigarette by 17%. Following the price-hike, the 20-stick packet of the Navy Cut brand is priced around Rs 138.

In the fiscal year 2013-14, the company has taken above 18% average price increase across its cigarette brands after the government raised excise duty in Budget 2013-14 and consequently some states increasing their VAT rates.

ITC, a diversified conglomerate has business interests in cigarettes, hotels, paperboards and specialty papers, packaging, agri-business, packaged foods and confectionery, information technology, branded apparel, personal care, stationery, safety matches and other FMCG products.
