Allahabad Bank tumbles on reporting higher NPA in Q3

Allahabad Bank is currently trading at Rs. 80.00, down by 6.90 points or 7.94% from its previous closing of Rs. 86.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 85.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 85.35 and Rs. 79.95 respectively. So far 580586 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 175.90 on 29-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 64.90 on 28-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 94.15 and Rs. 79.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4367.77 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.90% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.23% and 13.86% respectively.

Allahabad Bank has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2013.

The bank has reported 4.67% rise in its net profit at Rs 325.36 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 310.83 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 10.89% at Rs 5306.74 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4785.34 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2013 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 5.47%, as compared to 2.91% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA stood at 4.19% as compared to 2.06% in the same quarter of the previous year.
