Godfrey Phillips trades jubilantly on reporting 44% rise in Q3 net profit

Godfrey Phillips India is currently trading at Rs. 2881.10, up by 121.10 points or 4.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 2760.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2800.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2935.00 and Rs. 2790.10 respectively. So far 8934 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3550.00 on 15-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2250.00 on 18-Apr-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2935.00 and Rs. 2515.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3010.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 71.05% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.00% and 13.95% respectively.

Godfrey Phillips India has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2013.

The company has reported 43.75% rise in its net profit at Rs 70.74 crore for the quarter, as compared to Rs 49.21 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operations of the company increased by 18.26% at Rs 640.33 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 541.45 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012.

Godfrey Phillips India’s core business is manufacturing cigarette. Under this division has created brands like Four Square, Red and White, Jaisalmer, Cavanders and Tipper. The company has also initiative in developing products such as Stellar, the first slim cigarette and I-gen, the first euro norm cigarette in India.
