Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) is currently trading at Rs. 163.65, up by 1.15 points or 0.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 162.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 163.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 165.45 and Rs. 161.60 respectively. So far 94275 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 208.70 on 11-Mar-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 100.35 on 20-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 169.50 and Rs. 157.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 40042.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.72% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.59% and 4.69% respectively.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has acquired 4.66% stake in Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) from the government. The insurance major has bought 114.1 million shares of BHEL at Rs 165.55 each in a block deal for Rs 1,889 crore.

Following the block deal, the government’s stake in the capital goods maker has come down to 63.05%.

As on December 31, 2013, the promoters holding in the company stood at 67.72% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.59% and 4.69% stake in the company, respectively.
