Raymond surges as its arm inks pact for divesting entire shareholding in JV

Raymond is currently trading at Rs. 385.00, up by 4.15 points or 1.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 380.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 375.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 383.55 and Rs. 372.50 respectively. So far 49418 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 417.80 on 08-Dec-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 245.10 on 10-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 417.80 and Rs. 372.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2337.69 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 39.10% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.51% and 25.08% respectively. 

Raymond’s wholly owned subsidiary -Silver Spark Apparel- has entered into definitive agreements for divesting its entire equity holding of 7,40,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each  held in the Joint Venture (JV) Company viz., Rayves Automotive Textile Company, to T B Kawashima Company, Japan. The transfer of the equity holdings in the entity will take effect on completion of all legal formalities on or before December 20, 2011.  

Raymond is largest manufacturer of steel files in the world accounting 30% of market share. The company’s textile plants are located in Thane, Vapi and Chhindwara. These plants have received various certifications such as ISO 9001 for quality management systems and ISO 14001 Environment Control Systems.
