Nava Bharat Ventures inches up on plans to maximize power generation

Nava Bharat Ventures is currently trading at Rs. 187.50, up by 0.10 points or 0.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 187.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 186.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 187.75 and Rs. 182.20 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 340.00 on 27-Dec-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 158.00 on 30-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 212.00 and Rs. 178.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,674.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 39.18% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.11% and 23.71% respectively.

Nava Bharat Ventures will supply surplus power from captive generating plants in Odisha to the state grid. The company has come to a decision on this after Government of Odisha has issued directions u/s 11 of the Electricity Act, 2003 for all the captive power generating units in the state to maximize their power generation and inject surplus power to the state grid only.

Further, a representation has been made by the company before the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) to provide it with a viable tariff for such injection and compensation under open access regulations. The decision of the OERC is been awaited by the company.
