Conference Call Highlights:-

  • The succession plan had been started as the current MD & CEO Gopal Vittal will be leaving his position by Jan 2026 and will be moving to the Executive Vice Chairmen role. Current COO Shashwat Sharma will be taking over the MD & CEO position.

  • Feedback on tariff hike (20-25%) was positive as there were no signs of down trading of customers. The reflection of the tariff hike in revenues would be visible in H2.

  • Airtel Business segment margins continue to fall due to changes in revenue mix. The company is focusing on high-growth segments like Cloud, IoT and data centers. While these would significantly improve market size, overall margins would get diluted.

  • Management emphasized the need for dramatic improvement in the ARPU levels and the architecture of the pricing in the Indian Mobile services segment.

  • The management expects the capex to be moderate this year compared to last year primarily driven by slower 5G spectrum expansion.
