About Berger Paints India Ltd

Berger Paints is India’s leading paint manufacturer. The Lewis Berger laid the foundations of brand Berger way back in 1760 in the UK. With modest beginnings in India in 1923, currently, Berger Paints India is the second largest paint company in the country with a consistent track record of being one of the fastest growing paint companies, quarter on quarter, for the past few years. Starting out as Hadfield's (India), it had just one factory in Howrah, West Bengal. By the close of 1947, Hadfield's was acquired by British Paints (Holdings), UK and came to be known as British Paints (India). In 1983, the name of the company was changed to Berger Paints India.

Driven by a penchant for ceaseless innovation, the company has continued to challenge industry trends, exceed global standards and uphold its legacy of trust, quality and customer satisfaction. The company’s extensive pan-India distribution network, comprising over thousands of touchpoints, is supported by strategically located manufacturing facilities catering to major regions. Additionally, its DOCO (Dealer Owned Company Operated) stores nationwide play a vital role in driving sales growth.

The company successfully completed a century of its dominance in the paint industry and celebrated its 100 Year journey with the inauguration of its new, classy headquarters at New Town, Kolkata on February 10, 2025.
