About Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd

Automotive Stampings and Assemblies is a TACO group company, incorporated as a Public Limited Company under the Companies Act, 1956 on March 13, 1990 as JBM Tools Limited and subsequently, on August 1, 2003 the name was changed to Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Limited. Presently, TACO holds 75% stake in the Company and balance 25% is held by the Public. The shares of the Company are listed on NSE and BSE.

The company is a manufacturer and supplier of sheet metal components, welded assemblies and modules for automobiles. The product range includes Body-In-White (BIW) structural panels, Skin panels, Fuel tanks, Oil sumps & Suspension parts, mainly for passenger and commercial vehicles.

Business area of the company

The company is into the production of a wide range of sheet metal components for the automotive industry. Its product mix can be broadly classified into three categories: (i) Structural Panels and Skin Panels for the vehicle body (BIW) (ii) Modules and Aggregates including Chassis sub-assemblies (Under body) (iii) Oil Sumps and Fuel tanks. Its products mainly cater to passenger and commercial vehicles. The company also manufactures sheet metal components for tractors.

The company’s customers are some of the prestigious vehicle manufacturers like Tata Motors, General Motors India, Fiat India Automobiles, Piaggio Vehicles and John Deere Equipment. It also export the products to Ford Motor Company (UK).

The company has four plants located at Bhosari (Maharashtra), Chakan (Maharashtra), Halol (Gujarat) and Pantnagar (Uttarakhand). The Pantnagar plant with 17,000 MT pressing capacity is the Greenfield project which started operations in 2008-09.
