About Kanohar Electricals Ltd

Kanohar Electricals was originally incorporated as ‘Kanohar Electricals Private Limited’ on November 13, 1972. The name of the company was subsequently changed to ‘Kanohar Electricals Limited’ upon conversion of the company from a private limited to a public limited company pursuant to a shareholders’ resolution dated November 30, 1994. The equity shares of the company were, in the past, listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (now known as BSE Limited), The Delhi Stock Exchange Association Limited (now known as DSE Estates Limited) and The Uttar Pradesh Stock Exchange Association Limited (now known as U.P. Stock and Capital Limited) on November 13, 1995, November 1, 1995 and October 31, 1995, respectively. However, thereafter, the equity shares of the company were voluntarily delisted from BSE Limited, DSE Estates Limited and U.P. Stock and Capital Limited with effect from July 12, 2010, August 30, 2010 and October 20, 2010, respectively due to low liquidity and trading volumes.

The company is one of the leading domestic players in transformer manufacturing. It caters to industries such as power transmission, railways, renewable energy, and power distribution. Through its backward integrated facilities, the company offers a wide range of products and solutions for India’s energy infrastructure, particularly in the manufacture of transformers with its in-house technology. The company is also certified by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), the research and development wing of Indian Railways, to manufacture 100 MVA 132 kV Scott transformers.

The company operates its business in two segments i.e. Transformer Manufacturing Business and EPC Business. Under EPC Business, the company undertakes turnkey installation of air and gas insulated substations, bay augmentation in existing substations up to 400 kV class, and installation of transmission lines across 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV. EPC projects typically involve design, engineering, procurement, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.

  • 1972: Incorporated as ‘Kanohar Electricals Private Limited’ in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

  • 2011: Collaborated with Chung-Hsin Electric and Machinery Manufacturing Corporation, Taiwan for manufacturing of GIS business.
  • 2014: Entered into EPC Business with focus on EPC for gas insulated substation.
  • 2022: Entered EPC of transmission lines.
  • 2023: 500 MVA, 400/220/33 kV auto transformer tested for short-circuit at National High Power Test Laboratory Private Limited.
  • 2024: 60/84100 MVA, 220/2x55 kV and 60/84/100 MVA, 132 kV / 2x55 kV Scott connected traction power transformer tested for short circuit at National High Power Test Laboratory Private Limited and Central Power Research Institute, respectively.
  • 2024: Received approval from RDSO for manufacture of 100 MVA 220 KV transformers and 100 MVA 132 KV transformers.
  • 2025: Expanded manufacturing capacity to 19,200 MVA per annum of electrical transformers up to 400 kV.
