Burnpur Cement incorporated on 19th June, 1986 as Ashoka Concrete and Allied Industries. The company is engaged in manufacturing of cement. Later on September 2001 the name was changed to Burnpur Cement which was private limited company. On November 2001, it was converted in public limited company
On October 1991, Company started its business activity by manufacturing Portland Slag Cement (PSC) at plant located at Asansol. The production capacity of this plant was 30 TPD.
Company started with initial production of 30 TPD manufacturing Portland Slag Cement with unit located at Asansol in West Bengal. Currently, Burnpur Cement has production capacity of 1000 TPD. Company is a major producer in the eastern region of India.
Company has received ISO-9002:2000 and ISO-9001:2000 certifications for its quality management. The company has market presence in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar. Presently company manufactures Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC). Company has also exported cement in Bangladesh.
Currently its clinkerisation and cement grinding unit at Patratu Hazaribagh has capacity of 1200 TPD.
On March 23, 2006, company signed a MoU with the Government of Jharkhand, under which government will provide assistance for promotion and establishment in project in the Industrial area of Jharkhand to company.
Company clientele namely Eastern Coalfields, West Bengal Essential Commodities Supply Corpn (WBECSC), Paharpur Cooling Tower, Bengal Shrachi Housing Development, RPG Transmission, KEC International, Senbo Engineering, ITD Cementation, Ramky Infrastructure, Concast Ispat, Nicco Corporation, Calcutta Industrial Supply Corporation (CISC), Teesta Water Resources Division, Bokaro Steel Plant (SAIL) and many more.
